Many loved the 2019 Malaysian Tamil film Venpa, a romantic comedy that won our hearts.  The portrayal of  Thenavan, Kalyani and Sheila, and Sathya took us down memory lane, and back to our school days (and of our crush).

The movie was well received by its audience, with the music of the film earning special mentions by critics everywhere. A well crafted film indeed!

Recently the film crew revealed some updates on their box-office collection…they found an error in the theatrical collection’s total figure during the process of reconciliation for Insentif Tayangan Filem Cereka (ITFC). Due to the error, they had missed out on one of the Cinema company’s collection number as they did not receive the particular sales report.

After adding up the numbers from the sales report, the total collection figure sums up to RM542,686.60.

This marks Venpa as the highest grossing malaysian tamil film of 2019 and 5th highest grossing Malaysian Tamil film of all time.

The team had announced that they would release the official ITFC letter from FINAS once they have obtain it as a proof of the theatrical collection.
