From writing devotional songs to finding his identity through hip hop and rap, Malaysian Tamil rapper and songwriter ARUNBOII has built his journey around one thing;  telling real stories through music.

Hailing from Klang Town, ARUNBOII is the creator of ARUNBOII REAL MUSIC, his own creative platform where he explores hip hop and rap. Known for his fast and distinctive flows, he wants his music to carry genuine emotions and experiences that listeners can connect with.

His love for rap began at around 13, inspired by artists like Eminem and the Malaysian Tamil hip hop scene. But music had already been part of his life from a young age, having written and performed devotional songs with Gangeswaran Klang Urumi Melam.

He eventually began writing and recording his own rap lyrics and sharing them on Instagram. The encouragement he received from listeners led to his debut single, “Enge Port”: a release that became a major turning point in his career.

The song caught the attention of audiences beyond the Tamil music scene and went on to reach the finals of Anugerah Lagu Indie, where ARUNBOII emerged as the champion. His second single, “Bunga,” reached an even wider audience, with its signature dance inspiring fans to create their own TikToks.

As a Malaysian artist, ARUNBOII embraces local words, lifestyles and experiences in his music while hoping to take Malaysian stories to an international audience.

Behind the artist is Arun Syarmaa, a simple boy from Klang with big dreams. Having lost his parents at a young age, he says those experiences shaped his independence. Away from music, he has a passion for bikes and even worked as a bike mechanic while he was still in school.

His personal journey is reflected in “Arunsyarmaa,” a song named after his real name that tells the story of his experiences, struggles and life behind the ARUNBOII persona.

And there’s plenty more on the way. ARUNBOII is preparing to release a new single and music video, featuring several Malaysian talents and a new musical direction. The track will also mark his first proper romantic song.

He is also currently working on his solo album, “SENSA,” a project he describes as very close to his heart.From Klang Town to reaching audiences across Malaysia, ARUNBOII continues to turn his experiences into music; one story, one flow and one dream at a time.
