Wenger: Don't Let Klopp Choose His Replacement

Feb 23, 2024

wenger: don't let klopp choose his replacement

Jurgen Klopp should not be involved in the process to find his replacement as Liverpool manager.

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says it usually doesn't end well when the manager is given a hands-on role in picking a successor.

Wenger gave the example of what happened at Man United, when Alex Ferguson was allowed to hand-pick his replacement.

Liverpool are currently on the hunt for a new manager, after Klopp announced that he would be stepping down at the end of the season.

--

Man United investor Jim Ratcliffe says the club will wait until this summer to decide on the fate of Mason Greenwood.

The player was sent out on loan at Getafe, after his charges of attempted rape and assault were dropped.

Ratcliffe says any decision will be based on Greenwood's abilities as a player, and whether club staff and fans are comfortable with him coming back.

--

Separately, Man United have reportedly slapped a £43m price tag on Brazilian winger Antony.

He has failed to impress at Old Trafford and has fallen behind Alejandro Garnacho in United’s pecking order.
