Harimau Malaya coach Kim Pan Gon says he's proud of the national squad, despite their 2-0 defeat to Oman in their Asian Cup and World Cup qualifier last night.

He praised their efforts and gave them credit for fighting until the final whistle.

Pan Gon also believes that Malaysia still has a chance of advancing.

The national team are currently third in their group and need to win their next two games against Kyrgyzstan and Chinese Taipei, to advance to the next round of World Cup qualifying.

Elsewhere, Georgia have made history by reaching their first major tournament after 15 attempts.

They qualified for the Euro 2024 finals after defeating Greece 4 – 2 on penalties in their playoff final this morning.

Poland also advanced after edging past Wales 5 – 4 on penalties.

While Ukraine went through thanks to their 2-1 win over Iceland.

In selected international friendly results ...

England and Belgium played out a 2-2 draw.

Spain and Brazil settled for a 3-3 draw.

Germany defeated the Netherlands 2-1.

While Portugal were beaten 2-0 by Slovenia.
