If you're wondering if it's just you overreacting, or the heat this year seems more unbearable than previous years... well, it's not just you. 

2016 is set to be the hottest year in record.

According to the UN's World Meteorological Organisation, the average temperature of 2016 will very likely be 1.2°C above the temperature during pre-Industrial Revolution times. The limit of safe warming overall is 2°C. 

Some parts of Arctic Russia even saw an increase of 6-7°C from the long-term average temperature. As such, food shortages, population migration, and conflict are expected to increase as well.
