A new strain of H5N1 has emerged at a chicken farm in Hunan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has officially released a statement of that new outbreak.

4,500 chickens out of 7,850 have died of the bird flu. The authorities have segregated 17,828 poultry following the infected ones. Apparently, China is not the only country in trying to purge his outbreak. The authorities in India started culling chickens and eggs to contain the bird flu virus.

According to the World Health Organization(WHO), this virus is rare in humans. “The virus does not infect humans easily, and spread from person to person appears to be unusual,” the WHO said. “There is no evidence that the disease can be spread to people through properly prepared and thoroughly cooked food.” The mortality rate in humans is 60%, the WHO added.

Make sure to observe good hygiene and eat food that has been properly cooked only! Stay tuned with RAAGA for more information.
