Accalimed director Selvaraghavan recently confirmed that the much-awaited sequel 'Aayirathil Oruvan 2' with actor Dhanush is in production. While the fans have been eagerly waiting for the sequel to the 2010 action adventure, there’s been speculation on Dhanush's character in the sequel, as he was initially supposed to play the role played by Parthiban in 'Aayirathil Oruvan'.
Aayirathil Oruvan 2 also marks the reunion of Selvaraghavan with music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematographer Aravind Krishna. The film is expected to hit theaters in 2024.
Now there are reports that Selvaraghavan has penned 'Aayirathil Oruvan 2' as a continuation of the original 2010 film. In the film Parthiban played an ancient Tamil Chola King leading his people in poverty and his little son will also be shown, whom he would handover to Karthi's character in the final showdown with his enemies.
It is said that Dhanush would be playing the son of Parthiban's character in 'Aayirathil Oruvan 2' and the story will continue to another epic proportion. Another report also suggests that Selva has also planned a prequel to the film and Dhanush would be playing Parthiban's character before the events that are shown in the first film.
