Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV2030) is now the new vision for the government and a report has been prepared on its 15 Guiding Principles. The principles were prepared based on 3 key areas which Development for All, Addressing Wealth and Income Disparities, and a United, Prosperous & Dignified Nation.

The government has set 10 targets in order to boost economic growth as the GPD is projected to reach RM3.4 trillion between 2021 and 2030. The contents of the SPV2030 brief also states and identifies the current challenges such as the economy not being fully diversified, low adaptation of high technology, monopoly and market profiteering, and many more. The government plans to tackle these issues by achieving their targets set, amongst which includes growth in household income and Small & Medium Enterprise (SME’s).

"SPV 2030 is an effort to make Malaysia a country which is developing sustainably with fair and distribution of economy with equitable growth at all levels of incomes, ethnics, regions and supply chains by 2030," said Dr Mahathir during his speech at the launch of SPV2030 on 05 January 2020 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
