It’s been a challenge for most of us who wear glasses to wear face masks, as the glasses often fog up. How do we get them to work together without getting in each other’s way?!

how to keep your glasses from fogging up while wearing a mask

Fogging occurs when warm air hits a cool surface and that allows condensation to happen. When your warm breath escapes through the top of the mask, it hits the lenses of your glasses and causes them to fog up.

We can eliminate the foggy glasses problems with a few simple steps.

1. Add Soap And Water To Your Lens

All you need for this hack is soapy water and a soft cloth. Wash the lenses with soapy water and shake off the excess liquid. Allow the lenses to air-dry or gently wipe them off with a soft cloth before wearing your glasses again. The soap leaves behind a thin film that acts as a fog barrier.

2. Seal The Top Of Your Mask Using Your Glasses

Pull your mask up higher on your nose, and you can use your glasses to seal it and shape it to your face. Place your glasses right on top of the material that’s over your nose and make sure they don’t slide off. A secure fit will keep the warm air from escaping through the top of the mask.

3. Tape Down The Mask

Tape your mask down around the bridge of your nose and to your cheeks with sports or medical tape. Its not advisable to use tape that wasn’t designed to be used on the skin. If you have sensitive skin, test the tape out beforehand to make sure that it doesn’t cause irritation.

We have flattened the curve once, we can do it again! Remember to follow all the SOPs set by the government. Let’s do our part in the fight against COVID-19.
