Ipoh School Students Successfully Breed Tilapia!

Kids these days are of a different level!

ipoh school students successfully breed tilapia!

Students of a SMK Pinji, a school in Ipoh, have successfully bred Tilapia fishes!

What’s even more astonishing, is that these young ones got into the activity to prove a point to their principal.

A report by The Star says Madam Norehan Salbidi was posted to SMK Pinji in August last year and she learnt that the students were a mischievous lot.
So, she then started the fish project in December as a challenge to the students to prove otherwise.

Norehan said with the help of the general worker at the school, the students helped to clean the drain.
The principal apparently got the idea during a visit to Bukit Tinggi in Sumatra, Indonesia, where each hime in a village had a pool rearing fish!

The creative educator wanted her student to develop better thinking skills so she bought four Tilapia fish and rebuilt the school drain with RM 100 and threw them the challenge.
Later, about 30 Tilapia were sold at between RM3 and RM5 each, with the money pumped back into the project.

Pretty amazing isn’t it? Should other schools follow suit? Let us know what you think in the comments and stay tuned to RAAGA!
