E-wallets and cashless payments are hot topics this 2020, and many firms are trying to push this initiative for people to use E-wallets as an alternative form of payment.
The transport ministry plans to implement a cashless method of purchasing public bus tickets with E-wallets. Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook said that the system will be implemented in stages as they would need to look at the condition and availability of the terminals.

There are bus terminals with the facilities for the system which are the Terminal Amanjaya in Ipoh, and the TBS terminal.
Loke also said that bus operators who receive subsidies from the government are required to implement the cashless system. He was at TBS during that time to monitor the high volume of pedestrian traffic going back to their hometowns for the Chinese New Year celebrations.
