Recently a special guest made its way to a newly opened hotel in Junagadh city, India — an Asiatic lion from the nearby Girnar jungle!

CCTV cameras installed in the premise had caught the whole incident. In the minute-long video we see the Asiatic lion entering at 5.04am through the main gate. The lion moves toward the parking area, then takes a stroll around the hotel premises. While the lion made its way out after the stroll, a security guard is seen sitting still in horror at the security post as the lion jumped over the barricade and out the streets.

A series of videos from the incident had gone viral, with local media reporting that lions encounters in the city of Junagadh has been a regular recent occurrence. Activists believe this is likely due to the city limits being close to the Girnar jungle. Wild animals from the nearby jungle often roam the city at night looking for food.

Locals reacted to the incident quoting “For the rest of the world, this incident might be a thing of sensation, but for the people of Junagadh, this is an occasional event”
