We collect old newspapers to sell to potential buyers or to recycle. They're usually kept in a corner and looks really ugly and messy. However, the old newspapers in Japanese artist Chie Hitotsuyama's house or studio looks really artsy and fancy. 

 

Yes, that monkey sculpture is made from old newspapers. Hitotsuyama transforms what we perceive as old trash into avant garde art pieces. It involves rolling a lot of wet newspapers into rolls, pieced together to make realistic animal paper sculptures.
