Metro Maalai is about an unlikely bond formed between a dejected guitarist and a neglected young woman, after the two of them cross paths in Kuala Lumpur. The Malaysian film had recently won the Best Social Film category in the Norway Tamil Film Festival 2020.
 

 
The romance drama directed by Haran Kaveri and  Shobaan Pillay Nagarajan, stars Satish Kumar and  Punitah Shanmugam in the lead. The film was shot in a span of 3 weeks with a budget of RM150,000. The feature was done around Kuala Lumpur, Port Dickson and Karak and was under production for about a year to promise the best outcome.
 
 
The film makers have made the nation proud by winning Best Social Film in the Norway Tamil Film Festival 2020. It's also worth mentioning that the film was screened at the Luang Prabang Film Festival 2020 in Laos on Dec 14 last year.
 
The heartwarming story about a struggling young guitarist who lives in the heart of Kuala Lumpur consists of many memorable soundtracks that are fan favorites, notably “Azhagana Nyayiru'' by Dr. Burn. The composer’s lyrics & the nostalgic tune make this a soul-stirring song.
