Penang born journalist, Mr. K. Gurunathan has now been elected as the mayor of a town in New Zealand. Mr. K Guru was the chief reporter with The National Echo and few other medias in Malaysia. He migrated to New Zealand when he got married to Claire. 

He settled down in New Zealand as he had to take care of his father-in law.

Despite all the downfalls, that did not stop him from working towards becoming a mayor. Truly because of the support from his family and the people's trust in him.
