Popular television actress Chithra, known professionally as Chithu, has been found dead at her hotel room in Chennai. She was 28 years old.

According to reports, she had returned to her hotel room after completing her shoot for a television series, and she told her fiancé that she would clean up and be back.

However, she did not return for a long time, and was found hanging from the ceiling fan after her fiancé entered the room with the help of a hotel staff.

Chithu's passing has come as a huge shock to her colleagues and fans.Officials at Nazrathpettai station, India are now investigating the case.
