Her brother died in a car accident, about 10 years. During the fifteenth birthday of Monique her parents decided to tell her that Monique’s brother Mikey died in a car accident. Her family had a difficult past about `10 years earlier. Her parents decided that their son’s death should not be in pain so they donated Mikey’s organs. 

Mikey’s family was not aware if  the transplant was successful or not. Then ten years after the organ donation took place, the details of Aubrey was sent to Mikey’s family. Aubrey at that time was suffering from a congenital heart disease, the point when they were about to receive Mikey’s death her body had already rejected two hearts. They also transplanted his kidneys. Today Aubrey is 18 years old and she is healthy, leading normal life. 

In doing so, they saved the life of a young girl they didn’t even know: Aubrey Reeves, who was just 8 years old. Aubrey suffered from a congenital heart disease. At the time of Mikey’s death, her body had already rejected two hearts. The fact that her body and Mikey’s heart was a perfect match really is a miracle. They also transplanted his kidneys. Today, Aubrey is 18 years old and can live a healthy, normal life.

Monique’s parents called Aubrey for Monique's 15th birthday, Monique did not say anything, she was excited but she was also sad that because her brother was not there. Aubrey and her mother drove 10 hours to finally meet the family. The family who gave a second chance of life to Aubrey, they stood without noticing the crowd of the young girl. But when Monique realised that the person who received her brother’s heart was there she broke into tears. The moment when she knew that her brothers is in the chest of the young girl moved her emotionally. But eventually Monique accepted the fact that Mikey is living in Aubrey.
