A few people have tried it already.

Ever since WhatsApp lauched the voice call feature, we've been itching for a video call feature. The news that just came in seems to prove that this wish has indeed come true.

To place a video call, you'll need to tap the 'call' button like when you're about to place a voice call. A pop-up video will then appear with a voice and video call option. Tap on the 'video call' option and a voice call will start, like how FaceTime and Duo video calls look like.

The update is said to be made available to WhatsApp users at random. If you're video-calling a friend who does not have the feature update, the error message "Video Calling is unavailable at this time".

For now, we shall wait for the update.
