The traditional French toast is always fried and may be a concern for some healthy eaters. Try this recipe for a healthier but equally tasty breakfast:

Ingredients:

½ cup butter

¾ cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

5 bananas, sliced

8 eggs

¾ cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup milk

1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes

Powdered sugar

Instructions:

1. Melt the butter on the pan. Add in brown sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon with the heat on. Mix well.

2. When glaze is smooth, add in the bananas. Mix well.

3. Mix the eggs, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and milk in a bowl.

4. Pour in the cubed bread, mix well.

5. Put the bread into a baking dish as the base, the banana cinnamon glaze comes on top.

6. Bake at 180˚C for 45-50 minutes.

7. Serve with powdered sugar on top.
