Viki: Believing In Yourself

For Viki, her biggest support system has always been her close friends, family and the RAAGA team who constantly motivate her to grow. Over time, she has also learned to appreciate her own journey and give herself credit for evolving through every stage.Like many people starting out in the industry, she experienced moments of self-doubt. However, she gradually realised that her unique style is what makes her stand out.

She also believes strongly that women should not have to seek approval to live their lives. For Viki, confidence means embracing who you are and standing firm in your choices. As a radio presenter, the most meaningful moments for her are when listeners share how her words or voice have made a positive difference in their lives.

Ahila: Strength Through Independence

Ahila credits her family for being her greatest support system when she first started her radio journey. From helping her settle in KL to constantly encouraging her, their presence played an important role in her growth. While she admits that self-doubt sometimes appears, she chooses to overcome it by working harder and trusting the process.

Ahila strongly believes that women should strive to be self-sufficient. While support from loved ones is important, she feels every woman should have the confidence to stand on her own.For her, the most touching listener messages are when people say their day feels incomplete without tuning in to the show; a reminder that radio can bring joy and comfort to everyday life.

Gheetha: Passion With Purpose

Gheetha shares that her best friend has been her biggest supporter throughout her journey. Although there were moments where she felt underestimated, she believes in giving her best with passion and trust that what she deserves will come at the right time.As a radio announcer, the most fulfilling moments come from knowing that her programs have touched listeners’ lives. Whether it’s making someone laugh or helping them find clarity, these moments bring her deep satisfaction. For Gheetha, confidence and self-respect are two important qualities every woman should build.

Shalu: Turning Challenges Into Strength

Shalu’s journey in radio has been shaped by the many mentors and supporters who guided her along the way, including her seniors who helped her grow both professionally and personally. In her early days, she faced criticism about her voice and appearance. Instead of letting it discourage her, she used it as motivation to improve and prove herself.

Today, her distinctive husky voice has become one of her signature traits loved by listeners.Shalu also believes that women should not be limited by societal expectations, regardless of age or marital status. For her, confidence comes from loving yourself, embracing your individuality and walking proudly in your own path.

As we celebrate International Women's Day, the journeys of these announcers remind us that every voice carries a story of strength, growth and determination. Through their words, music and conversations, the women of RAAGA continue to inspire, uplift and connect with listeners every single day.

And behind every broadcast is a simple yet powerful reminder; when women believe in themselves, their voices can truly make a difference.
